Tips For Going Back To Work After You Have A Baby

1. Keep An Open Mind
We often assume it will be hard to return to work, but a lot of moms find it to be a welcome break from household responsibilities and the chance to reclaim their old identities. Instead of wasting time worrying about how it will all unfold, go back to work with an open mind and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised.

As Shamsie L. shared, "Going back to work wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. After a week or so, I almost felt like it was a blessing in disguise. I was able to feel a little bit like ME again, if that makes sense. I had to get dressed up and look presentable, I was able to have conversations with adults that didn’t revolve around breastfeeding, poop, or sleep patterns, and I was able to eat my lunch in peace. It may be really, really, really hard the first few weeks and you’ll probably speed home as fast as you can to see your baby ASAP, but it’ll be ok. I promise.”

Brittany B. added, “I didn't feel normal until I went back to work. It doesn't have to be a sobbing mess like people make it to be. I am the best mom I can be because I work outside the home.”
